Summary

You’re sent a message (by however means it is in your world) and you suspiciously look at it, wondering who it is from. The writing is nothing you have seen before and yet you’re interested in what lies inside. It reads:

The Souls are the Key and the Tree is the way. Flowers are dreams come true. Leafs give life to those who are in need of a returning of colour in their cheeks. Berries for wishes but Souls are what are needed. The collars and bracelets, each coloured in one of three, bind the Soul to the Tree and to the Life.

Death is the way but is Death the return?

You do not know what to make of it so you forget about it. Days later you fall ill, no one can cure you and you die a painful death but where does the soul go? It goes to Niflheim, the City of the Mists where you now reside with either a collar or a bracelet on your neck, one of three different colours. Each collar subtly drains your energy to feed the Yggdrasil Tree, for its Flowers are needed by the Gods to revive one of their own yet some Gods are mischievous toward those Souls who they have captured.

How will you deal with them? How will you fight back should you want to? How will you return to your world, your old life? What if you had already died before attaining the message but still are directed to Niflheim? What if there was a chance for you to come back to your home world and live again? Would you take it?

The City at a Glance

Niflheim is the City of the Mists where devils lie and there is no sun for however long the days last. Each night is forever and the cities are lit by torchlight. However, despite the eternal night, the torches do not stay lit at all times. Shadows come and go and with them come the things that do bump in the night. Orcs, ghosts, possible even the vampires of lore among other devils haunt the street looking for their next meal.

In Niflheim, you are on your own and the God, Loki, could be blamed for everything but that does not mean you cannot fight back against the darkness if you wish. Thor has his own hidden army in the city, willing to take anyone who wishes to fight for the safety of the city and against the acts of Loki and his conspirators. In a city where Gods rule, there are few that wish for the best of its populace. Yet, even so the good Gods are outnumbered and need the help of those newcomers who can and are willing to fight back.

For those who cannot or do not wish to fight back, there are other places to become useful if you wish. Hospitals, schools, standard jobs to supply the underground armies of Thor are there as well as normal civilian jobs. Despite everything, Niflheim tries to remain a “normal” city that is always encased in darkness. Jobs are offered and a military base, hidden deep underneath the stones and cobbles of the Niflheim streets are always there for anyone.

Would you fight? Would you accept your fate? Will you help the armies? Or will you try to find your own way home by helping a Shadowy figure who says his experiments will help bring the ones who died to come to Niflheim back to life and in their own world?

Niflheim’s reach is long and manages to touch three different realities. The original reality of your universe, a secondary alternate reality and a third where genders are switched. Which one do you come from?

Military

Joining the Military at this moment is not open but if you wish to join, please remember Baldur’s Army—commanded by the God, Thor—welcomes Medics and Technicians besides the standard Warriors. Dorms will be given to a squadron of four (two warriors, one medic and one tech) to ensure healthy teamwork and relations between the group. Each squadron is in charge protecting a District of Niflheim and certain field tests will be made for each squadron by Thor himself to test their worth.

In the future, Squadrons will be undertaking missions of reconnaissance and stealth to find out how to stop Loki and his cohorts stopping what must be a fiendish plan of destruction for all the populace in Niflheim and how to find a way back home.

At this point of time, the Military plot of the game is not active. More information will be released when the plot starts to begin. However, please note that it might not start until December of this year. Moderators wish to state that November will be the month where players and their characters can adjust to Niflheim.

Bracelet and Collars

Players will have the choice of a piece of “jewelry” which binds them to Niflheim. This item cannot be removed and over time it will drain some of the character’s energy (soul) by the people in control of the binding bracelet or collar, Loki and his minions. It is possible to “die” in Niflheim by neglecting to do certain good deeds in the game.

Dying in Niflheim means your character becomes in a coma state and cannot be awaken without the use of a Yggdrasil leaf. Without a Leaf, your body slowly becomes more transparent until you are absorbed into the center Tree, the Yggdrail, as source of food. Dying is when your character feels weaker and weaker and parts of his or her body becomes ghost like. Only when you are actually “dead” do you start to be come transparent.

The colours of the jewelry come in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Each has a corresponding stone in the center of the rather thin piece of jewelry. It glows when your body starts to loose some of its energy/soul. You may choose one of the three along with whether you wish for a bracelet or collar. Mods will occasionally state that wears of a certain colour will start to feel the effects of being drained.

The amount of time you can be without restoring your energy is in real time one month. To restore your energy, you will have to do a good deed such as taking participation in mod events. You will receive a Yggdrasil Seed which will give you one month immunity to the Soul Draining.

Yggdrasil Seeds, Leafs, Berries and Flowers

Seeds are given to those as gifts from the goddess Freya in a gesture of a God’s blessing. They will restore the damage on your soul the collars and bracelets have done. They are rather tasty and are akin to strawberries in flavour.

Leafs are items given to those in a God’s favour. These have reviving properties but do not have much for restoration. Reserving these for a friend who has “died” will almost certainly give the owner of the Leaf a Berry.

Berries are gems that can be found almost in random places by mischievous spirits. Not only do they restore one’s soul damage, they will allow the owner to make a material request from the owner’s home world. They can bring back almost any item they wish to have. Some say they will allow the owner a dream of what is happening currently in their home world should they want it. Use it if you wish to see what has happened to your loved ones that are not with you in Niflheim.

Flowers are the rarest of all the gifts from the Yggdrasil tree. Aside from having all the properties of the others, they can grant the owner a way home with no consequence.

Outside Niflheim

Outside the mists are various locales that some might think of tourist spots: beaches, mountains, forests, whatnot. Regardless outside the city gates, all evils lurk and demons will attack anyone in sight. Yet that does not stop some of the natives of Niflheim from visiting Nightmare’s Cove for the beautiful view of the ocean. It is highly disapproved of and often warned not to go out of the Niflheim’s gates. It is almost certain “death”.

The Monsters

The monsters that haunt Niflheim are vast and numerous but most known to be seen are the Orc warriors. However, it is not uncommon to see others such as deadly yellow foxes, blue flames that attack anything in sight, vampires, wolves, and other nightly fiends. Perhaps even a zombie or skeleton army will attack?

General

~ No god-modding, in character or otherwise.

† Do not control characters that belong to the Mods (NPCs) or other characters.
† Do not become invincible in the game during any fights. Please remember to take a hit or five during the battle posts.
† Remember you are not allowed to defeat a monster with only one post.
† Do not automatically conjure items without reason and explanation.

~ Respect other players, regardless of their character actions. This is a role-play community, the in-character actions of characters do not necessarily reflect the player.

~ Just don’t be a Mary Sue or Gary Stu. Stay in character when playing in the RP!

Applications and Characters

~ At the moment there is a limit of three characters for each player. However, only one character per fandom.

† Any character on reserve will be reserved for a maximum of two weeks except where otherwise stated so reserve wisely.

~ When applying, make a journal for your character, because personal journals cannot be used to RP.

~ When applying, you are allowed to make up the history for your character to follow or completely disregard canon, within reason.

† If you are applying as an Original Reality, you must be as close to canon as possible while as the character's original gender.
† Alternate Reality keeps the character as the original gender/sex but there is complete freedom in history.
† Genderswitch Reality is for those who wish to apply as the gender that is opposite of the original character's; history may be the same as the original or completely different.
† Check other taken characters for the possible connections of the history of taken characters to the history of your character.

Role-playing Format and Systems

~ RP at least once every two weeks, try to update characters journals at least once every week.

~ When posting an RP session, use this format.

† LJ-cut any long posts and questionable content. For example, posts that are more than several complete paragraphs long, smut, violence, etc. should be placed under the cut.
† If your post is or would be marked by any warnings and friends-lock your post. For example, smut, strong violence, ect. should be marked by warnings. Especially smut should be under friends-lock.
† All photographs, scans, ect. containing NC-17 content must have a warning and must be placed under LJ-cut and friends-lock as with other sexual content. The images themselves must be shown as links, as the image itself should not be placed on the post itself even under LJ-cut and friends-lock.

~ Pay attention to ratings or warnings and read at your own discretion. niflheim_mods and staff will not be held responsible for what you may find if you do not heed warning markings.

~ Anyone under the age of 17 may not be involved in anything rated NC-17, this is mostly for your safety as well as ours. It is law in the United States and I do not wish to go to jail.

~ If you have a set of RP logs or sessions that relate to each other, link them together. For example, for a discussion between two characters that came before a certain related incident, link the discussion to the related incident in the Log's header.

~ Stay in character at least most of the time. This should be an unspoken rule, but because of previous issues with character behavior this rule will serve as a reminder here.

~ Angst is welcome within reasonable limits. We do not want to see any unnecessary explosions of characters, ultimately distorting character personalities and creating a domino effect. For example, a character should not angst to the point that all the other characters of the entire RP become dedicated to preserving their mental and physical health. However, that does not mean you cannot play a character like that for a while, reasonably a month to three months real time. Due to the idea and plot of the game, extreme angst is fine but should not be overdone.

~ Crack is welcome, within reasonable limits. For example, please do not RP crack exclusively, because the RP runs on a continuous storyline and persistent, semi-realistic setting.

~ Slash (Yaoi), femme-slash (Yuri) and hetero are welcome. Smut is welcome, within reasonable limits. Please do not RP smut exclusively. Please remember to F-lock any Smut, or Mature rating posts.

~ Violence is welcome, however, please do not kill other characters, especially by graphically spilling their bodily organs and fluids across the ground, unless with the permission by the other person. Also, please refrain from killing someone in the game. Not only is this not nice. It is not encourage unless the person has decided to leave the RP and wanted a "spectacular" way out.

~ Please remember to tag all RolePlaying Logs with your designated tag: {Version} Character Name

Message Board Community

~ This pertains to the community, niflheim_rpg

~ The only posts must be notices of any kind for other characters and players' knowledge

† Notices can range anything for asking if a certain character is near by, requesting a meeting with an NPC or another character. Creating a player event and notifying everyone.
† Posts may be “voice” posts, rather than “written” notices for those who are not as techno savvy as other characters or blind.
† Notices will sometimes include information from the mods concerning NPCs and possibly some player-characters.
† You may make all posts “Public” or “Screened” so long as you put either or in the subject line. Screening makes the notice private-reading for a certain person or group. Public is for everyone to read.

~ Do not introduce yourself here, do so in the OoC community.

Out of Character Community

~ This pertains to the community, niflheim_ooc

~ No godmodding, out of character or otherwise.

~ Respect other players. Insults and flames are deleted and players will be given a warning. Repeat offenses will result in a ban of any number of days.

~ Any potential flame wars will be prevented in the best available manner. Players will be given a warning, but failure to comply will result in a ban of any number of days.

~ Trolling will result in a permanent ban, including character deletion.

~ If a maintainer hands you a can of OMGSTFU, take it reasonably.

† Maintainers will take disciplinary actions if they have reason to believe a player has shown behavior to deserve it.

~ Free speech and expression are welcome, within reason. Basically, keep contents relatively tasteful. Do not act like a Homophobic, Heterophobic, or any type of hater. Try not to unintentionally (or intentionally) insult someone. Remember, you may squick at some things that others like/enjoy.

~ OOC character interaction within the OOC community is welcome. There is no need to stay in-character.
† Any role playing done within the OOC community does not affect the original plot of "Niflheim."

~ Anything-goes: other rules have priority over this.

~ One player can make a maximum of two posts per day in the OOC community. Failure to comply will result in the third post deleted and a warning. Repeated offenses will result in a ban of any number of days.

† New posts aside, players can comment on other posts as much as they like, within reason. For example, do not spam comments aimlessly.

~ Players can freely post content and discussions. There is no posting format.

Application Procedure

1. First, read the Rules for expected behavior in the Role-Play, Message Board and OOC communities.

2. Second, read up on all information posts on niflheim_mods for other notes on NPCs characters and possibilities within the role-play setting.

3. After reading, check to see that the character you want isn't already taken by looking through the Taken Characters List. Also check the Reserves List located on the same post to see that the character you want hasn't been reserved by another player.

4. When you have character profile and history details of an unregistered character in mind, you can begin applying.

Acceptance Procedures

1. Edit any changes to the application form as requested by the mods.

2. Once approved, post a copy of the application in its entirety to your Journal as an entry. The Journal Post will be used as the primary reference to your character profile and history details and would be linked to from the Taken Characters Post. Do not Friends-lock or set the Journal Post to Private Viewing.

3. Copy and paste the character profile and history details into your character journal profile; it will be used as a secondary reference to your character profile and history details for other players.

Gods

Loki: A lesser god than the others but still one who should be feared. He is not only a very intelligent God but very mischievous in what he is doing. He is, for the most part, the master mind behind the bringing of souls into Niflheim. No one truly knows if his intent is malcontent or actually something more beneficial.

Thor: A higher class god, than Loki, he is in charge of Baldur’s army and wants to help those who are trapped in Niflheim go back to where they belong but do to the Fates, he cannot help as much as he would like to.

Baldur: A supposedly dead brother of Loki who was killed when Loki deceived their blind brother Höðr into shooting Baldur with the only thing that can kill him. It is in him that Thor named his Army for.

Thanatos: A sleeping god who is said when he awakes, a great coming would follow. It is said that Thanatos is the reason for Loki’s experiments and bringing of souls into Niflheim. Thanatos goes by many names but most have settled to just call him by this one. You may know him as the God of Death in some other language. He was once the ruler of Niflheim.

Frigg: Not much is know of this goddess, the mother of Baldur but some say she is trapped in Niflheim, somewhere.

Freya: This goddess looks over those who she favours and is mostly known for giving gifts from the Yggdrasil tree as a blessing to those who she deems worthy. Whether she has a major part in Niflheim or not remains to be seen.

Fenrir: The guardian of the Yggdrasil tree who roams the city near the truck. She is a wolf-god and will not hesitate to attack any in her way for coming too close to the Yggdrasil. Those who are to be punished by the gods are often placed directly in front of the snarling Fenrir. Not many have escaped with their lives upon this meeting.

Maero: She is Loki’s minion along with her breathren. This she-devil who wraps herself in dark flames, accenting her femininely assets, is perhaps the most seductive of the three. She is similar to a Succubus and is able to transform into any being and any one. Some say a kiss from her is deadly enough that their soul is absorbed into her body.

Odium: A rather portly but tall man. His bulk and strength is something to be in awed of. He is simple-minded but has times of insight. He will not hesitate to try and attack anyone in his way, in order to gather souls.

Dolor: He is a small fellow, no taller than a meter and dressed in a grim reaper’s robe. He carries with him a tall scythe in which he uses to drain souls from his victims. Dolor is quite mischievious and doesn’t hesitate to manipulate others into “helping” him. He is able to change into any child, even the child version of adults.

Despero: If Maero is the Succubus, the Despero is the Incubus. His body is shrouded in the classic orange flames. He is flirtatious but always very intelligent, more so than Dolor and Maero. Though quiet, he prefers to play greatly with his prey.

General

Seth Cain: The leader of the Black Market in Niflheim and rival to one Adam Pilate. He is in charge of the Sixth District’s night clubs and drug dealer. Some say he is a spy for Loki though this has not yet been confirmed. However, there are hinting that he has his own mob and doesn’t hesitate to use mob punishment on those who dealt him wrong; or to use his connections to terrorize Pilate’s district. They have a long dealt street war and all who live in the Sixth and Third Districts better watch out.

Adam Pilate: A restaurateur and lounge owner in the Third District. His power is wide in his district and although he is much more willing to be more of a law abiding citizen, he doesn’t hesitate to use his own power to do some wrongdoing against one Seth Cain. Rebecca Davidson: She is one of the head nurses in the Fifth District Hospital named Avalon, who is willing to help anyone in need, poor and rich alike. However, due to her age (being in her mid-thirties) she is well known in her district for her loose tongue for everything. She also happens to be one of the very accurate street reporter, always using the Message Board. Sometimes she manages to get actual information on Loki and Thor though she seems to become quiet for a while soon after something such as that.

Bay Wulf: He is well known as the civilian law enforcer of Niflheim. He usually ends up as the mediator and peacekeeper between Cain and Pilate. His main jurisdiction, however, is Fourth District. Doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have some power in the other districts.

Stefanie Meral: As the district head of First District, this strict woman controls the different stores. She’s no nonsense and some say she is Wulf’s lover. Always nosy, she’s good friends with Davidson. Should you encounter this woman and have her hear something about your life, she’ll probably tell Davidson to write some report or gossip on you.

Ima Laedi: The kindly leader of the Second District. She’s probably the only one that doesn’t care what you do so long as you are polite when she is near. She won’t rat you out, talk about you or do anything. Just remember your manners!

Districts

First District: In this District, lead by Stefanie Meral, are all sorts of stores, similar to shopping malls, supermarkets, maybe even some home goods. You can find anything you want here if you have the money. Housing usually gravitates toward the divider between First District and Fifth District for everyone. Beware, however, if you don’t have the green paper cash for this place, you’ll be living with only the sheer essentials: shower, toilet, bed and a stove-oven. At least in the other districts you have a refrigerator if you’re new! Some might say the richest people live in this district.

Second District: Libraries, parks, theaters, anything for any relaxation you cannot find in the other districts are in this one right here. Ima Laedi rules this place with a gentle hand and she only wishes for people to remember their manners around her. Housing is everywhere and no doubt, it is the most generous of the Six Districts. Feel free to freeload here, just remember your please and thank yous.

Third District: This district houses many good and delicious restaurants and the lounges and bars are perfect for those who wish to relax without the noise of the Sixth District clubs. Adam Pilate is the director of the Third District and most would find him a democratic leader. The war Sixth District however is the only downside to living in this rather entertaining district. Homes are scattered through out the district. New Residents are housed toward the center of the district until they can buy new homes in and out of the Third District.

Fourth District: Here in this district lies the Law Enforcement headquarters of Niflheim, headed by Bay Wulf who is also the director of this district. Residents usually live toward the center of the city while still in this district. New residents are granted roughly a month of free housing before being evicted if they do not pay for their housing, unlike in other districts which allow free housing until one has a job.

Fifth District: Rebecca Davidson is the leader of this district which houses the best hospitals in Niflheim. There are schools in this district, ranging from day cares, elementary, junior high and high schools as well as colleges for those who wish to continue their education. New Residents are situated usually close to one of the numerous hospitals in this District while general residents are scattered toward the Northeastern wall of the city.

Sixth District: Home to the Black Market. Head of the district is Seth Cain, who is in charge of many nightclubs which are Sixth District’s specialty. There are several restaurants though individually owned. Murders are said to happen every Friday by the Mob. Most civilians, if not all, who live side on Cain’s side in the street war they have with the Third District. Residences are scattered through out the district, though new Residents are housed toward the edges of the District until they have jobs to pay for actual residence more inside the district.

Blank Spot near First District: That right there is the base of the Yggdrasil tree which is guarded closely by the Wolf-God Fenrir. Beware of her teeth and her reach, she won’t hesitate to maim and/or kill you on sight.

Other Information

Transportation: Transportation in the city are usually the subways and buses, below and above the streets of Niflheim, respectively. However, do not be surprised to see a car or taxi at some point in city.

River: There is a river that runs throughout the city, carrying with it fresh, if not murky, water. You might be surprised at what you find in this river, spreading out like webs in small streams along Niflheim. Some say the mists originate from this river, though that has yet to be confirmed, however likely it may be.

Yggdrasil Roots: Throughout the Niflheim are roots appear on the stone cobbles of the roads. These roots belong to the Yggdrasil tree. They are fast and many, some even climb onto the buildings. However, please note that the large walls dividing each District, is in fact an actual large root of the Yggdrasil tree.

Can I apply as an original character?
Please, just don't. We have any character in fandom times three available in this game. There's just too much variety for you to choose from. Frankly, I'm not quite fond of OCs in a Mult-fandom setting, myself.

Can I play as a celebrity? As a band member of some famous band like My Chemical Romance?
No. I'm sorry but please restrict your choices to fictional characters. You may do characters from Movie, TV and Books but no actors, singers, musicians, etc.

Can I make an extension on my reservation?
No. Or rather at least not while your reservation is still in effect. I'm sorry but I do like the idea of giving someone else a chance to reserve that character you are trying to apply for. You may however put in a new reservation the day after your first one expires. I will only acknowledge when it is my time zone's day after and not when you post. Meaning that if you are in the East Coast and place a reservation at 0100 hours, it is still 2200 my time (I live in California).

My character appears in two games, like Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts? If I claim Cloud do I claim both Clouds from those games? Am I able to fuse the two "different" Clouds from both games into one?
No. Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts (as well as all the other others and movies that are in the Kingdom Hearts universe) are two different games, completely separate games. You can only apply for one version of a character that is used in at least two different fandoms. You cannot fuse him or her from both fandoms into one. It just wouldn't be fair for anyone. So, you can only apply and claim Cloud from Final Fantasy VII but not Kingdom Hearts and vice versa.

Can my character come from the same universe as someone else's character?
Yes and no. If you're talking about Original Reality Characters then all those characters must have similar histories and relations that are represented in Canon. If you're talking about Alternate Realities then it just boils down to if you have the original "creator's" permission. Personally, I want to be asked if someone wants to use the same universe one of my AR!Characters came from rather than be surprised that someone decided to do so without my permission.

Permission is important. I don't want plagurism and all that drama just because someone decided that another's Alternate Reality universe sounded fun and decided to make his or her own Alternate or Genderswitched Reality character from that universe. If you and another person collaborate the idea of having two characters be from the same Reality then it is fine. If you have more questions, feel free to post them in this entry.

How does the Plague work? Is it a major factor in the game?
No, it's not a major factor. It was only a means for your character's soul to be transported into Niflheim. How it worked on your character prior to their arrival is to your own interpretation.

Am I able to kill off my characters in order of them to appear in Niflheim? Can I forgo the Letter/Plague?
Yes and no. I do make some exceptions for characters that have died in their canon, such as Maes Hughes in Fullmetal Alchemist. As seen with the current OR!Edward Elric, I did give permission for the player to use the canon death of Edward (being killed by Envy) as a way for the character to appear in Niflheim. It is recommended that you stick with the letter/plague format in appearing in Niflheim but if you choose to do something different please notify a Moderator with your idea on how your character will die. You need our permission first before applying that way. Regardless, you character must die, we prefer it to be the Plague, however.

What happens if my Character dies in my fandom and that is canon/official?
If you are applying for an Original Reality character that actual dies in your fandom, you may simply forgo the plague and have him or her land directly into Niflheim. It is perfectly acceptable.

So... is my character "dead", per se in this game?
No, well, sorta. We all heard of Purgatory, or Limbo, right? Niflheim is that place. It's a place between life and death. It is only because of Loki's grand plan that you have died in your "world" (fandom) and had your soul become transported into Niflheim.

Will it be possible, if I wanted to leave the game, that my character to come back alive in his or her world?
Yes, it would. The Yggdrasil Flower has the power to that. It also reverses time before you receive the message that had inflicted you with the Plague. If your character was dead in the actual fandom, he or she may just go into the actual Afterlife.

Alright. I have a Yggdrasil item. How do I use it?
You merely mention it that you used the item attain something (with the Mod's permission) in a journal post. However, if you are using the item to revive someone who is in the coma state, that must be dealt in a RP log.

What happens when my character first arrives in Niflheim?
They simply wake up in a designated free housing home in whatever district the Mods give you. Make sure to read in detail what each District specializes and which one you may enjoy the best for when you are able to have your own paid housing.

Items? What items can I bring into the game with my character when he or she first arrives?
Basically the items that your character has normally in their fandom such as Cloud Strife with his large massive sword is acceptable along with a few materia (low level materia. We do not want Knights of the Round materia in the game as of yet!) but he cannot appear with Vincent Valentine's Cerberus rifle weapon. He doesn't normally carry that. If you are unsure if you can bring in an item, please ask a moderator or reply to this post.

What is the deal with Districts?
Home Districts are where you live but you are not restricted to only moving around in your resident District. You may move to another district if you have the money for it. Once you enter Niflheim, you will be housed in Free Housing.

Does my character know he or she is being drained?
At first? No, they shouldn't however sooner or later you hear something about in the message board or with a conversation with an NPC. Or you can have them assume something is wrong. The stone in the jewelry they wear glows during the entire Soul Draining.

How do we do the journal thing in this game?
You have a portable laptop, roughly ten inches by five which is also voice-compatible for those who cannot type or see. It also serves as a link to the world wide web of our real world though all news sites and information is banned. It is possible to find "fanfiction" or "fanart" of your characters and talk about that, as well as quizzes, memes and what not.

You said Battling? Fighting, or whatever. How does that go?
Simply, a Mod will post in the OoC community about certain guidelines that should be met in a Battling post. Such as a character has to fall unconscious for X amount of total replies, should have a broken bone, needs to go into the hospital or something like that. There will also be information of items you can use to fight off whatever is attacking you that may or may not help.

Jobs? We need jobs?
Why yes, this is a City-setting and you can't certainly expect your housing to be free all the time? You'll get kicked out sooner or later if you don't. Job options will be posted in the OoC Community and sometimes the Message Board. They can range from teaching positions, doctors, law enforcement to whatever.

They are ranked from a level of 1 to 10. 1 being enough to house you in a small one-person home and 10 being enough to house you, feed you and give you enough spending money for a good three months. This will be better explained when the jobs become available. Students at the schools are housed for free in their school dormitories.

Why do I have to wait until I'm 17 to have Smut in this RP?
Legal issues in the United States where the Moderators live. I'm sorry about that but I do not wish to go to jail.

How do we get our Yggdrasil stuff?
A moderator using the God Journal will comment on your journal about you receiving an item. It can be for a good job at being active, helping the plot along and so on.

How is the draining of souls thing go?
It happens at random but Loki will post in the Message board about draining people with a certain coloured stone jewelry. So like people with ruby bracelets will be drained only.

How many times until I die from being drained?
About five times by the jewelry alone. It might be sped up if you meet up with a monster or something. Information will be given during that.

I want to join the Military? How do I do that?
Thor will bring a post in the Message Board about recruiting people. Reply to that and then you'll soon be assigned a squadron and a district to live in. There are underground military dorms for you to live in while serving in the military.

Hey! I saw this RP before!
Did you? In its entirety? Did you see this in parts? Or is it completely? Well, damn, I have to admit, I saw different pieces from different RPs ALL on the internet. Saw the multiple version of the same character? Hell, I saw that one several RPs on FORUMS and the INTERNET. Saw an enclosed city? How many really are out there? HUNDREDS. Trapped in a place your character doesn't want to be? THAT'S THE DEFINITION OF A SETTING RP THAT ISN'T A SCHOOL (usually).

What makes my game unique is not the different versions that can be played in this game. It's the deal with the Yggdrasil Tree and the Gods, mainly. All the other parts are to make this game more interesting. You can whine to me about it all you want. I'm not closing this game just to please you. I am not going to put a COPYRIGHT on these things because I REFUSE to. If people want to copy me, then by all means do it! I want you to! It means I succeeded in making a good game!

People only put COPYRIGHTs because they are threatened by something they do NOT want to see. The real people with the COPYRIGHTs are those these characters we play are owned by. It's not the idea of the RP, it's not the different parts of the RP that it more interesting. The RP is made so it can be FUN.

Hey! I belong to an RP that is similar to this game and the mods there say I can't play with you unless I want to quit the game over there. What do you think about that?
What do I think? I think that's bullshit, really. I think you're entitled to PLAY where you WANT. They're only being a dictator. If you want to join my RP and play at another more SIMILAR game, then by all means GO AHEAD. I encourage you. You can create new experiences in this game and that other RP that will make it more Fun!

Why the last two FAQ questions?
I was a player at this one RP, which I will not name for the sake of just not wanting to. I am not wanking, nor do I plan to. I am however also part of the RP which was assumed to be what I believe was assumed a complete rip-off. I just wish to have it state, I will not tolerate anyone flaming or complaining about my RP because I have my rights. I am not a nice person when I am in moderator mode. I want to be but I can't. I rule with a firm fist.

I do not want any conflict with anyone, I do not want any flames, complaints or arguments that are not intelligently given. I give you my arguments already. Please, for the sake of just peace on the internet, I will not bother you if you don't bother me. I just want to play my game in peace with those who are interested. You are entitled to yours and for the most part, I did like playing with you and your role-playing game. You just got boring for me.

Please no drama. We're all mature people (I hope). I won't give you any if you don't give me anyway.

Also, one more thing to note. I have not ever glanced or stalked the RP that I was kicked out of, nor looked at any other RP game save for their premise information since then. This RP was NOT created as a protest or as an insult, only to give a hopefully different experience in the world of the Internet and Role-Playing. Believe it or not, I stand by what I say.

If you are complaining about this game being similar to something you have already seen, then you are probably correct, however there is a significant spin on this game that differs it from those you think are the originals. Leafs give life to those who are in need of a returning of colour in their cheeks. Berries for wishes but Souls are what are needed. The collars and bracelets, each coloured in one of three, bind the Soul to the Tree and to the Life.

Death is the way but is Death the return?</blockquote>You do not know what to make of it so you forget about it. Days later you fall ill, no one can cure you and you die a painful death but where does the soul go? It goes to Niflheim, the City of the Mists where you now reside with either a collar or a bracelet on your neck, one of three different colours. Each collar subtly drains your energy to feed the Yggdrasil Tree, for its Flowers are needed by the Gods to revive one of their own yet some Gods are mischievous toward those Souls who they have captured.

<div align="justify"> Niflheim is the City of the Mists where devils lie and there is no sun for however long the days last. Each night is forever and the cities are lit by torchlight. However, despite the eternal night, the torches do not stay lit at all times. Shadows come and go and with them come the things that do bump in the night. Orcs, ghosts, possible even the vampires of lore among other devils haunt the street looking for their next meal.

In Niflheim, you are on your own and the God, Loki, could be blamed for everything but that does not mean you cannot fight back against the darkness if you wish. Thor has his own hidden army in the city, willing to take anyone who wishes to fight for the safety of the city and against the acts of Loki and his conspirators. In a city where Gods rule, there are few that wish for the best of its populace. Yet, even so the good Gods are outnumbered and need the help of those newcomers who can and are willing to fight back.

For those who cannot or do not wish to fight back, there are other places to become useful if you wish. Hospitals, schools, standard jobs to supply the underground armies of Thor are there as well as normal civilian jobs. Despite everything, Niflheim tries to remain a “normal” city that is always encased in darkness. Jobs are offered and a military base, hidden deep underneath the stones and cobbles of the Niflheim streets are always there for anyone.

Would you fight? Would you accept your fate? Will you help the armies? Or will you try to find your own way home by helping a Shadowy figure who says his experiments will help bring the ones who died to come to Niflheim back to life and in their own world?

Niflheim’s reach is long and manages to touch three different realities. The original reality of your universe, a secondary alternate reality and a third where genders are switched. Which one do you come from?
